Certificate in Urban Ministry
The Certificate in Urban Ministry at TTI is designed for those who seek to make a significant impact in urban settings through ministry leadership. This program provides comprehensive training in theological concepts, pastoral care, and community engagement, equipping participants with the skills to address unique urban challenges effectively.

Expositional Seminars
Our Expositional Seminars offer in-depth exploration of Biblical texts with a focus on practical application in contemporary urban contexts. These seminars are tailored to provide clarity and insight into scripture, enhancing both personal faith and public ministry capabilities. Participants gain a richer understanding of the Bible as a foundation for effective leadership and service.

Pastoral Mentorship
The Pastoral Mentorship Program at TTI brings pastors into a supportive cohort for training in preaching, worship leadership, church governance, pastoral care, and discipleship. Through mentorship and theological formation, participants grow in gospel-centered leadership and gain practical tools for leading healthy, vibrant churches in an urban ministry context.
MEET OUR DIRECTOR
Listen as Pastor Charles Shannon shares with you the vision for Transform & Train Institute
Charles serves as the Executive Director and a Missionary Mentor for the Institute. Charles also serves as the lead pastor of Mission Church, a role he has held since 2016. Charles and his wife live in Norfolk, Virginia with their five young children.
PAST PRESENTERS
Thabiti Anyabwile is one of the pastors for Anacostia River Church. Thabiti is the author of several books, including The Life of God in the Soul of the Church; The Gospel for Muslims; What Is a Healthy Church Member?; The Decline of African-American Theology; and The Faithful Preacher.
Dr. Jarvis J. Williams serves as Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Southern Theological Seminary. He is the author of numerous books on Paul’s letters, Pauline Theology, and a Biblical Theology of the People of God.
Dr. Boniface Odong, a native of Uganda, became an assistant professor at the Regent University School of Divinity in July 2023. He is an ordained minister serving in the D.C. Metropolitan Area and is passionate about raising the spiritual temperature of God's people.
